How to Make Yourself Happy Anytime! – In Seconds!

By Andy Shaw

Happiness is the goal of goals… It is what we do everything in life to attain. It is the elixir of life… We want to be happy… It is at our very core… It is our deepest need for us to ‘live well.’ It is at the very centre of our wellbeing.

So it is kind of important to control!

People stop feeling they can attain happiness, or their ego has convinced them that something they did in their past means that they no longer deserve to have any future happiness, then they commit suicide…

Happiness and being happy is therefore really, really important stuff! It is also important to know that happiness is just a choice. So you can be happy in the depths of despair just like you can be happy in the most joyous moments of your life… Basically it is just a choice.

When happiness exists you cannot feel bad at the same time, happiness switches on the light and darkness cannot exist in the presence of light. So all you have to do is learn how to switch the light on anytime and anywhere.

When you learn how to be happy in life then you can choose happiness instead of allowing darkness in because you unconsciously chose that instead. As just because you chose it unconsciously does not mean that you did not choose it.

So just before I give you how to do this in an instant, here is the most important thing to remember… Darkness and light cannot exist at the same time in the same place. So if you spend a lot of time sitting in the dark, then here is your light switch.First you have to become aware… You have to notice that you are not happy and you have to remember that you have in your possession a switch that can turn on the light of happiness…

Don’t underestimate the power of this, don’t let its simplicity blind you as your ego likes keeping you in the darkness… So it can sense that what I am about to give you threatens its existence… So if you’ve had enough of feeling depressed and unhappy all of the time then I suggest you pay very close attention.

When you have noticed you are not happy then you can use this sentence to switch on a light … I suggest you use it when you feel depressed, angry or frustrated once or twice before you judge the worthiness of this tool I am about to give you, otherwise you are going to discard one of the crown jewels of mind control – By the way, judgement is weakness, observation is power… Something you may wish to consider.

When you are unhappy say to yourself, ‘I choose to be happy now.’

That’s all… Say it to yourself out loud now and feel the power of it if you can. I choose to be happy now.

Feel how it can instantly turn on the light of happiness. This is all you need to turn the feeling around in an instant and as I say, don’t underestimate the power of this because it is so simple.

This is just part of the law of least effort, where the simple easy techniques are the ones which produce the greatest results. If you want to see how powerful this is, just apply this today whenever you feel, angry, depressed, or just a little frustrated, as you may be present enough to remember to do it then.

See the power of it then come and read this again and you’ll be reading it with a different attitude, the next time you’ll be reading this knowing that this really works!

However, if you got it… and I mean you really got it!

That the power in those six small insignificant words really can change your life.

Nine hard-learned tips for success

By Shannon Panzo

My own experiences have forged my step-by-step progression from failure to success. I have learned to value failure and appreciate success. I have found that my biggest failures in life have led to my greatest successes. These are the steps I take when overwhelming adversity strikes in my life. I look forward to sharing this hard-earned secret with you.

My story started when my wife and I decided to diversify into a different business. The money needed to support the project came from our property equity over and above our ‘comfortable’ payments. Walking the “path” with all the positive thoughts in the world, we were given a multitude of promises and guarantees, even in writing. We were about to learn a big and expensive lesson.

At the end of the day, we felt much betrayed. The business that would fund the extra payments and more became a ‘money pit’. People that vowed to come to our aid turned a blind eye to us. We were left utterly alone to deal with our problems.

Justifiably so – we created these problems. They were ours to solve.

I have learned along the way that failure is riddled full of success, if you open your eyes to it. Even though most people would count our venture as failure, it was the start of our ‘adventure’ to get a grip, and swing it all back around. Objectively speaking, it is our finest moment.

To come back from this type of overwhelming adversity in the present economic climate is utterly amazing. So many things that could have sunk our battleship along the way have not presented themselves. We dealt with situations that came up. But, we always seemed to come up on top. We have been blessed time and time again.

The Fight is Engaged:

If you find yourself at the bottom of the stack and you are retching because you feel that you have been kicked in the gut from all directions – that is where we were. We decided to ‘fight’! But we decided to fight in a different way. We decided to take advantage of the many years I was teaching others Brain Management to pull oneself out of the wringer. It was time for me to employ the same methods myself. Here are just some of the things we did:

FOCUS – We decided what we wanted – our ‘target’ at the end of the tunnel we could focus on achieving. (We verified our target with subconscious feedback to make sure that it is in our Divine Order.) Even when you are compelled to take care of other things that crop up, you still need the determination to go right back to your focus. Your focus on the target will become so severe, that nothing will get in the way. You may lose some of the battles along the way, but you don’t lose the war.

FORGIVE – Most people don’t like the idea that someone has betrayed you or gotten something over on you, if you don’t forgive them without reservation; it keeps draining your energy. At these critical times, you need all the energy you can muster, and more. So, yes, we forgave them.

We also forgave ourselves. This step is just as important. Whether you feel you were to blame does not matter. Just making sure that energy path is clear can make all the difference, and often does.

INFORMATION – Information, or the lack thereof, can be critical for the decision-making process. To support decisions you must gain access to a tremendous amount of information in a very short amount of time. Reading, even speed reading takes too long.

DIRECTION – What direction we were going to take to accomplish our goal? We programmed and prayed for the guidance and strength to see us through. Whether it be God or Universal Consciousness, we accept the cards we have been dealt and we have taken up the gauntlet to create the path to reach our objective.

PAIN – By accepting pain will be associated with our chosen path, we gain a certain amount of clarity and a sense of control over our environment, while reaching our primary goal. Pain comes in many different forms–our biggest pain was financial.

PASSION – Fully accept it and embrace it – all of the lessons, successes, and failures alike to achieve your objective. We personally have many driving forces to keep on track. Some of these have emotional ties. If you need to gain this, then create it. You will find, if your objective is important enough, the emotional ties will already be there – and they will be STRONG.
“That which does not kill you, makes you Stronger!” Neitzsche

LAW OF ATTRACTION – Working within the Law of Attraction and eliminating as much information that is contradictory to achieving our objective. If you used to watch TV shows with negative content, turn them off. If people are not supporting your decision as to how you have been guided and chosen, then limit your communications with them. You will find that good intentioned friends and relatives are the first to suggest for you to give up because it’s too hard. They are NOT you, and they are not walking your path. The people you choose to gather around you in times of need can be scrutinized by this:
“If they are not part of the solution, then they are part of the problem.”

Whenever you are the person within the struggle, EVERYTHING matters. Every piece of information, especially from loved ones, counts. But you cannot afford to be persuaded off your path if you want to achieve your goals.

LEARN – Learn from your mistakes. Do your best not to fall into the same trap. When you traverse failure, you learn lessons. When you apply those lessons learned, you gain wisdom and success. Never stop learning.

OPPORTUNITY – When 1 door shuts, 100 others open! You must be ready for these opportunities. They have been our life-saver in rough seas. It wasn’t just 1 opportunity; it was and is many combined to create a cumulative effect. The momentum keeps growing. If one thing starts dropping off, something else picks up. It all takes good focused effort. You still need to participate if you are ever going to reach your goal. If the goal is not worth your participation, it is not a worthwhile goal.

So, with those hard-learned tips in mind, I urge you to raise yourself up, you’re your focus, and never give up on reaching your objectives. Know that you will gain your goals, too.
Have a Great Journey!

What Is Your One Big Thing?

By Phil Cooke

“I’ve found that the most effective and successful way to cut through the clutter of competition…is to simply be remarkable at One Big Thing.”

In a cluttered and distracted world, it doesn’t matter how great your idea is—because if no one’s listening, you’ve failed.

It doesn’t matter if your idea can change the world if the world isn’t paying attention.

So what’s the answer? How do you break through? How do you or your ideas get noticed?

While researching and writing my new book, One Big Thing: Discovering What You were Born to Do, I realized that in today’s distracted, digital culture, when it comes to getting businesses and nonprofit organizations noticed, it takes singular, brilliant execution.

In other words, they do “One Big Thing” extraordinarily well. In today’s hyper-competitive, distracted, cluttered, ADD culture, the best way to get noticed is to be incredible at one thing. For more than 30 years, my work has been helping nonprofit organizations tell their stories. And after three decades, I’ve found that the most effective and successful way to cut through the clutter of competition from other organizations, products, and messages, is to simply be remarkable at One Big Thing.

It’s the same for you. In a distracted, hyper-competitive world, you can’t just be decent at a number of different tasks. Too many people are pretty good, and that doesn’t get you on the radar.

People don’t pay for OK; they pay for great.

It’s important to keep in mind that once you’re successful—once you’ve made it to the top—you can do anything you want. The Salvation Army, for instance, is a global organization that features programs and outreaches to the homeless, disaster relief, human trafficking, poverty, the elderly, those struggling with pornography, youth camps, and much more. It reaches into every corner of need and is making a remarkable impact around the world.

But when William Booth began his ministerial career in 1852, he focused on one thing: reaching the outcasts. Thieves, prostitutes, gamblers, and drunkards were among his first converts to Christianity. As the Salvation Army website says: “To congregations who were desperately poor, he preached hope and salvation. His aim was to lead people to Christ and link them to a church for further spiritual guidance.”

Today, The Salvation Army is one of the largest social service organizations in the world—even launching SAVN.TV—a remarkable, video driven web strategy that is taking them into the digital age.  But William Booth started with one noble cause and was remarkable in his commitment.

For Don Stephens, it was building a floating hospital that became a global organization called Mercy Ships. For Jackson Pollock, it was discovering how splatter could transform his art career.

For Steve Jobs, it was combining design elegance into a computer interface. For Truett Cathy, it was creating the perfect chicken sandwich. For Dean Koontz, it was writing thrillers.

For Jeff Bezos, it was selling books online. For Guy Kawasaki, it was empowering people. For Allison Krauss, it was bluegrass music.

Once they became successful, they could do anything they want. But to get noticed, they focused on One Big Thing.

What about you? What is the One Big Thing you were born to accomplish?

Rule Your World With Talent

By Ogbo Awoke Ogbo

“The London Summer Olympics is a parade of the finest athletes on earth. They play while billions of us stand still to watch, awed by their magnificent maneuverings of the same human body as ours. They rule their world.”

The business tag line of a popular Nigerian telecommunications company is so captivating I can hardly get it off my mind: “Rule Your World.” As far as business promotion goes, that works. But as for how the universe works, you will never rule the world with a mere gadget. Rather, I have seen people ruled by their gadgets. They never get their thumbs off BB nor unplug their head phone to participate in a meaningful conversation.

However, you can rule your world with passion. You can rule the world by discovering your divinely ordained purpose, and applying your talents and abilities.

I have always been fascinated by people with talent. Every Hall of Famer is a person of talent. Every Nobel, Oscar or Academy award is an affirmation of talent. Every roll call of greatness in various fields has the common element of talent. The London Summer Olympics is a parade of the finest athletes on earth. They play while billions of us stand still to watch, awed by their magnificent maneuverings of the same human body as ours. They rule their world.

When Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian with 20 medals, and whom Sports Illustrated claimed to be “universally recognized as the greatest swimmer in history,” arrived London, the world stood at attention. Pat Forde,Yahoo! Sports’ national college columnist, reported Phelps’ interview this way: “Phelps had his own press conference here … playing to an auditorium jammed with journalists from around the world. That is standard operating procedure at the Olympics for Phelps; when you’ve won 14 gold medals, you can have the stage to yourself.”

Do you own a press conference? Ruling the world, having the stage to yourself, is a standard operating procedure for men and women of talent. King Solomon of old once noted, “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before obscure men.” I have often marveled at the high places to which talented Nigerian comedians are invited to perform. Talent takes them to presidential villas around the world. Talent is a neglected source of power.

Does everyone have talent? How may you discover yours? What should you do with your talent? Talent is like a seed. Everyone has it but it must be planted before it can yield a harvest. Be authentic. Stop being like other people.  Know thyself. Your talent is your cutting edge. Find it, build it, use it, and rule your world.

“I have often marveled at the high places to which talented Nigerian comedians are invited to perform. Talent takes them to presidential villas around the world.”

Taxi driver who returned passenger’s N18m gets rewards

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Thursday gave a taxi driver, Mr. Imeh Usuah, a N30,000 award in Abuja for returning N18 million left in his car by a passenger.

NOA Director-General, Mr. Mike Omeri, said these in Abuja while giving the award of N30,000 to Usuah for his honesty and patriotism by returning N18 million to the rightful owner.

The taxi driver was  given an award for his courage to do the right thing when most people would have seen the money as a way to enrich themselves.

Omeri said every Nigerian who does good deeds will be honoured by the agency.

The NOA DG, who eulogised the exemplary life of the taxi driver, said every Nigerian “who toed the path of honesty and displayed a rare integrity must be celebrated.”

Omeri said the award would be given to any Nigerian, irrespective of status or class that showed act that depicted the values and culture of Nigeria.

The DG said that those harbouring a negative idea about Nigerians should change their impression, adding that peace, honesty and love should be taken as “a Nigerian factor.”

He said that for Usuah, a taxi driver, to have returned N18 million showed that Nigeria still had men and women of integrity.

Usuah, who plies Airport Road, Abuja said he was at the car wash when he discovered there was a bag left behind by a man he had earlier dropped off at a hotel.

He said he immediately returned it.
“My mind went back to the man whom I dropped at the hotel and I immediately alerted my chairman.

“He instructed me to go back to the place where I dropped him. I saw him and delivered his bag to him,” the taxi driver said.

Mr. Oche Elias, who represented the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, said it was a rare display of honesty.

He added, “”It was a huge act of integrity and trust exhibited by Usuah.”
He said that with that act, the country’s image was being corrected. He also urged all Nigerians to be involved in the management of the country’s image.

Elias said the aviation ministry would organise a dinner in the taxi driver’s honour to show to the world that integrity pays.

Nine Things More Important Than Money

By Jim Rohn

When starting any enterprise or business, whether it is full-time or part-time, we all know the value of having plenty of capital (money). But I bet we both know or at least have heard of people who started with no capital who went on to make fortunes. How? You may ask.

Well, I believe there are actually some things that are more valuable than capital that can lead to your entrepreneurial success. Let me give you the list.

1. Time
Time is more valuable than capital. The time you set aside not to be wasted, not to be given away. Time you set aside to be invested in an enterprise that brings value to the marketplace with the hope of making a profit. Now we have capital time.

How valuable is time? Time properly invested is worth a fortune. Time wasted can be devastation. Time invested can perform miracles, so you invest your time.

2. Desperation
I have a friend, Lydia, whose first major investment in her new enterprise was desperation. She said, “My kids are hungry, I’ve gotta make this work. If this doesn’t work, what will I do?” So she invested $1 in her enterprise selling a product she believed in. The $1 was to buy a few flyers so she could make a sale at retail, collect the money and then buy the product wholesale to deliver back to the customer.

My friend Bill Bailey went to Chicago as a teenager after he got out of high school. And the first job he got was as a night janitor. Someone said, “Bill, why would you settle for night janitor?” He said, “Malnutrition.” You work at whatever you can possibly get when you get hungry. You go to work somewhere—night janitor, it doesn’t matter where it is. Years later now, Bill is a recipient of the Horatio Alger award, rich and powerful and one of the great examples of lifestyle that I know. But, his first job—night janitor. Desperation can be a powerful incentive. When you say, “I must.”

3. Determination
Determination says I will. First Lydia said, “I must find a customer.” Desperation. Second, she said, “I will find someone before this first day is over.” Sure enough, she found someone. She said, “If it works once, it will work again.” But then the next person said, “No.” Now what must you invest?

4. Courage
Courage is more valuable than capital. If you’ve only got $1 and a lot of courage, I’m telling you, you’ve got a good future ahead of you. Courage in spite of the circumstances. Humans can do the most incredible things no matter what happens. Haven’t we heard the stories? There are some recent ones from Kosovo that are some of the most classic, unbelievable stories of being in the depths of hell and finally making it out. It’s humans. You can’t sell humans short. Courage in spite of, not because of, but in spite of. Now once Lydia has made 3 or 4 sales and gotten going, here’s what now takes over.

5. Ambition
“Wow! If I can sell 3, I can sell 33. If I can sell 33, I can sell 103.” Wow. Lydia is now dazzled by her own dreams of the future.

6. Faith
Now she begins to believe she’s got a good product. This is probably a good company. And she then starts to believe in herself. Lydia, single mother, 2 kids, no job. “My gosh, I’m going to pull it off!” Her self-esteem starts to soar. These are investments that are unmatched. Money can’t touch it. What if you had a million dollars and no faith? You’d be poor. You wouldn’t be rich. Now here is the next one, the reason why she’s a millionaire today.

7. Ingenuity
Putting your brains to work. Probably up until now, you’ve put about 1/10 of your brainpower to work. What if you employed the other 9/10? You can’t believe what can happen. Humans can come up with the most intriguing things to do. Ingenuity. What’s ingenuity worth? A fortune. It is more valuable than money. All you need is a $1 and plenty of ingenuity. Figuring out a way to make it work, make it work, make it work.

8. Heart and Soul
What is a substitute for heart and soul? It’s not money. Money can’t buy heart and soul. Heart and soul is more valuable than a million dollars. A million dollars without heart and soul, you have no life. You are ineffective. But, heart and soul is like the unseen magic that moves people, moves people to buy, moves people to make decisions, moves people to act, moves people to respond.

9. Personality
You’ve just got to spruce up and sharpen up your own personality. You’ve got plenty of personality. Just get it developed to where it is effective every day, effective no matter who you talk to, whether it is a child or whether it is a business person, whether it is a rich person or a poor person. A unique personality that is at home anywhere. One of my mentors, Bill Bailey, taught me, “You’ve got to learn to be just as comfortable, Mr. Rohn, whether it is in a little shack in Kentucky having a beer and watching the fights with Winfred, my old friend or in a Georgian mansion in Washington, DC as the Senator’s guest.” Move with ease whether it is with the rich or whether it is with the poor. And it makes no difference to you who is rich or who is poor. A chance to have a unique relationship with whomever. The kind of personality that ‘s comfortable. The kind of personality that’s not bent out of shape.

And lastly, let’s not forget charisma and sophistication. Charisma with a touch of humility. This entire list is more valuable than money. With one dollar and the list I just gave you, the world is yours. It belongs to you, whatever piece of it you desire whatever development you wish for your life. I’ve given you the secret. Capital. The kind of capital that is more valuable than money and that can secure your future and fortune. Remember that you lack not the resources.

Celebrate Your Life

By Saji Ijiyemi

This is the last step in my piece “Seed, Time, Harvest and How to Reap the Best in Life“. In previous steps, you’ve cultivated and prepared the ground (of your mind), you’ve planted good seeds (thoughts), you’ve nurtured, cared for and protected the seeds, and you’ve waited patiently for the seeds to grow, mature, and bear good fruits. The next and final step is to celebrate because it’s harvest time. Before you read further, I will encourage you to review the previous steps so you know how we got here.

1.  Prepare the Ground

2. Get Good Seeds

3. Nurture the Plant

4. Be Patient – It’s Time to Wait

5. Celebrate! It’s Harvest Time

You’ve worked hard while others waited on luck, you’ve waited your time while others wasted their time, and you’ve sacrificed while others cannot delay gratification. Years have gone by. Time has passed. Payday has come. It’s harvest time!

When you finally get the best grades and graduated as the best in your class, when you finally rise to the top in your chosen career, when you finally become a successful Executive or Entrepreneur, when you finally see your ideas, dreams, and visions become a reality, take time to celebrate and throw a party. Some people are going to hate you for it. Others are going to call you names. Please don’t let them bother you. Criticism comes with success, you should get comfortable with it (except if you succeed by illegal and unethical means).

When you become successful and begin to live the life you’ve worked hard and prepared for, it’s wise to give to the poor, invest part of your fortune, or donate to worthy causes. But it’s unwise to jump into the ditch in an attempt to help those who are trapped – it’s better to stay on top and let down a lifeline.

It’s our nature: Human beings like success but they hate successful people. – Carrot Top, American Comedian

Harvest time is not the time to feel bad because things are going well for you, it’s the time to bring the fruits in else they overripe and begin to grow bad. Where were your critics when you were studying hard, working hard, and sacrificing hard towards a better future? They were ignorance of your pain but now complain of your gain. Never allow those who are living their nightmares stop you from living your dreams. I love Carrot Top’s statement when he said “It’s our nature: Human beings like success but they hate successful people.” You’ve paid the price, why should anyone be angry because you’re picking up the goods?

Those who are ignorance of your pain will often complain of your gain. – Saji Ijiyemi

Remember that success has many friends. Many weeds will try to come back and contaminate your successful life. Many pests will want to destroy your harvest. You need to continuously manage your success and keep the weeds and the pests out.

In all, I hope you celebrate your life and enjoy every minute of it. You’ve earned it and you deserve it.

Final Words
Take some time to think about what you want to harvest 5, 10, 15, or 20 years from now, go and get the seeds of what you want to harvest in your future and start planting them now. If you want to be the best in your class, study! Study!! Study!!! If you want to be a Medical Doctor, go and enroll in a Medical School; if you want to be an author, get rid of activities that are disturbing you from writing and start writing. Only thieves want to harvest where they have not planted. I hope these tips help you get your life on the path to a great future. Have a great life!

Have You Given Up on Your Dreams?

By Dr Joe Rubino

Remember when we were kids… And every day was an adventure.  The grass was greener, the sky more blue, and the stars shown brighter.

And our futures went on forever – as far as the eye could see. There was no stopping us.  Go ahead, let ’em try!  We marched at each day break and conquered the world by nightfall. Life was full of endless possibilities…

Can you think back to those times and to your hopes and dreams for the future?

Astronaut, President, Football Hero, Rock Singer, Doctor, Baseball Legend, Famous Artist, Movie Star, Scientist…

How clear the path to each one…

Or maybe you only knew that you were destined for greatness.  But you were sure it was coming… Because that’s all it took.

Your unwavering belief in yourself.  Your absolute determination.  The certainty of youth.

Congratulate yourself if you reached those goals.  Find joy in having stayed the course. In being one of the very few.

Look back to where you started and know that you have done exactly what you intended… To know you are exactly where you want to be.

And it’s OK if you haven’t gotten there, you are not alone.  Most of us have yet to realize our full potential.  It’s not like they offer a class in achieving your dreams.

And really, it doesn’t matter where you have been… Or even where you’re at today.

The only things that matter are who you want to be and where you want to be.  Most likely, fulfilling those childhood dreams today would not hold the same joy.  Age blesses us with the understanding of what brings true happiness.

But you still have – within your heart and mind – a clear vision of who you want to be now…

Leader, Salesperson, Author, Partner, Executive, Speaker, Marketer, Coach, Better Parent, Effective Communicator, Mentor, Business Owner…

No More Excuses! Use Your Gifts!

By Lesley Ingves

“Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.”
~    Henry Van Dyke

I speak a lot about using your gifts.  The other day a client told me they have no gifts.  This kind of shocked me.  I guess that because I’ve spend so many years and time and energy leaning about my personal gifts and determining how I can use them, I lost the view that not everyone is in the same boat with me.

Without discovering what your gifts are, it is not possible to experience life to its fullest, highest level.  Time is ticking.  We all know how quickly the days fly by, but are they giving you any special memories and feelings of satisfaction?  If you just made it through the day, then the past few days, weeks and months are probably just a blur.

Discovering and making use of your gifts doesn’t mean making a radical change.  You don’t have to quit your job, sell all your belongings and move into a lean-to in the woods.  I’m suggesting you take a time, and I mean specific, scheduled time, to look inward and listen to your inner voice, reminisce about the pleasures you’ve enjoyed during your life and create the space for minor changes in your present life course moving forward.

The following steps are a sample of how I work with clients and workshop attendees to create their life by design and start living with more purpose and joy.

Discovering Your Gifts:

1.  Wake up and open your eyes!  I’m serious about this. Any time I hear someone say that they don’t have any talents, I want to slap them.  Once and for all:  you DO have lots of gifts and talents, so stop ignoring them!   Open your mind and your heart to all you love and do.  Look in the mirror of your life and acknowledge the things that come easily to you and when you flow.  Talents and gifts are not always some huge prodigy type of exceptional thing.  They are phenomenally diverse things that everyone is awarded at birth.  Your gifts may be a quiet talent for noticing when someone is sad and you take action to cheer them up.  You may be the person who stays calm when things are chaotic and although you are not the best at solving problems, you are the anchor that allows others to come up with solutions.

Open your eyes to where you flow in life and feel peaceful in doing it.  Look to all the clues that surround you and speak to you.  When you converse with others, what experiences that they share interest you the most?  By this I mean, as they are sharing with you, how many times do you think something like:  “That sounds so great! I wish I could do something like that!”

Your inner voice, or soul, is always sending you information.  This is good intelligence, for it comes from the deepest part of you, and you should listen to and trust it.  Some call it a “gut feeling,” some say that “something just said to me….”

Countless times, I’ve heard someone say that if they had only listened to this intuition, they would have had a better outcome to some decision or situation.  Let this be your guide too in the discovery of your gifts.

2.  Add to this your driving factor – your reason WHY.  Answer the questions:  What is going on inside of you right now?   Are you feeling a sense of longing for something else, something more?  Are you fed up with things as they are and feel a need to get away from it all?

Humans typically are motivated by working away from displeasure/pain – or – by workingtoward something that will give pleasure.  Answering the above questions honestly will give you an idea of which motivation stance you are working from.  When you answer the questions and your thoughts flow out quickly and easily, this is the sure sign of which side you are on.

Working from this place, build on your responses.  For example, if you easily answered that you are often having thoughts of wanting something better, wishing you had more life, more vigor, more enthusiasm in your life, then you are working towards attainment of those feelings.  Now add ideas about what it would feel like to be at a place in life where you felt excited and energetic. What would change?  What would your life look like?  Allow yourself to visualize this ideal and set it firmly in your mind.

Now, it’s time to make your why something you keep in your awareness at all times.  I’ve learned that “Pinterest” is a wonderful tool to create your vision board.  How cool is that?!  You can write a few lines on an index card and look at it during the day, or I’ve created a recurring appointment in my calendar which pops a reminder to me on my phone and keeps reminding me of my motivating whys.

Now that you have become aware that you have gifts and are on your way to discovery, you subconscious mind will provide more evidence to you.  Keep searching, your answers will come.

Remember that this is only part of your journey.  There is no final destination, it’s all a journey.  Enjoy and learn along the way, but be sure to stick with it, the rewards are great.

Seed, Time, and Harvest – How to Reap the Best in Life

By Saji Ijiyemi

Whatever you plant will grow. If you plant nothing, weeds will grow and you will harvest nothing. Many people want to reap good grades, great spouse, wonderful family, high paying jobs, and a great life. But great life does not just happen; you have to want it bad enough to prepare for it. I shared five essential actions to take to reap the best in life:

1.Prepare the ground

2.Get a good seed

3.Nurture the Plant

4.Be Patient

5.Celebrate! It’s harvest time

Now let me share briefly on each of the action steps:

As long as the world exists, there will be a time for planting and a time for harvest – The Bible, Gen. 8:22

1. Prepare the Ground
The first step to reaping a great future is to prepare the ground of your mind. A good ground will produce good fruit. The first instruction God gave to man was to cultivate the garden and guard it. The garden of your life is your mind. To cultivate is to prepare and work on your mind (the garden) in order to produce a good harvest. Many people have good seeds, but good seeds planted on a bad soil will grow badly — if it grows at all. Start preparing your mind for a good future today. Get rid of weeds (things that you don’t want) that are growing there. A wise man advised that you “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” That is a serious statement; your mind determines the course of your life, do all you can to protect it. Don’t allow anybody or the media to dump garbage on the garden of your mind. This is your life, please protect it!

2. Get Good Seeds

After you’ve prepared the soil and it’s now fertile for seeding, you need to get some good seeds. If you don’t plant good seeds in your mind, weeds of bad behavior will grow there. Given the right condition, the soil will incubate and grow any seed you put in it. The health of your seeds will determine the health of your harvest. Good seeds will produce good harvest; bad seeds will produce a bad harvest.

The health of your seeds will determine the health of your harvest. – Saji Ijiyemi

Remember, only weeds grow where they are not planted. After your mind is prepared, start screening what you want to plant there. These are some good seeds (thoughts) to allow in your heart: anything that is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. If anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. There are also bad seeds you should keep away from polluting your mind: envy, gossip, pornography, sexual immorality, bullying, stealing, hating, and all other behaviors that are not worthy of copying. If you allow these thoughts to grow in your mind, they will hinder your harvest of a great life.

3. Nurture the Plant

You’ve prepared and work on your mind (the garden) to produce a good harvest. You’ve screened and planted only good seeds in your mind. Now is the time to nurture the plant as it begins to grow. Weeds will try to grow again but you have to constantly get rid of them. You have to water the seed regularly; it is not a one-time thing. For example, if you’ve planted seeds of great marriage by becoming a better person yourself, you should constantly water the seedlings to make sure you are still true to your commitments. Sometimes you have to prune your garden to selectively remove unhealthy thoughts, and reduce risk from bad thoughts that keep bombarding you every day.

Pruning involves the “targeted removal of diseased, damaged, dead, non-productive, structurally unsound, or otherwise unwanted tissue from crop and landscape plants.” If that sound like any of your friends, music, movies, magazines, or conversations, get rid of them – they are going to infect your good seeds. Again, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Your mind determines the course of your life, do all you can to protect it.

4. Be Patient — It’s Time to Wait
Almost everybody agrees that there is a time to plant and a time to harvest but we often forget a time to wait. We live in a microwave, fast-food, I-can’t-wait, give-it-to-me-now generation. We want it quickly and we want it now.

If you go in to or drive-through a fast-food joint, you get a fast food, eat it on the go or while sitting for a few minutes. However, if you go to full service, sit-down restaurants, you’ll discover that everything takes time and menus are served in courses: first the drinks, then the appetizers or soups, followed by the main course, and topped-off with the dessert. You can’t get all that through the window, you just have to sit down, relax, and wait.

Don’t let the shortcuts in life cut your life short – Saji Ijiyemi

If you desire a well aromatized and fragrant future, be patient, work for it, and wait for it. So many talented, highly gifted, well-educated are in jail right now because they want to make millions in their teens and twenties. They fraud, deceive, and dupe others in the name of business but their motive is deadly. Be careful of people who want to make money from anything and everything, their love for money will one day lead them in the wrong path.

It takes about 58 days to 100 days to harvest corn, about 10 to 15 years for a palm tree to reach full production, “An oak tree will produce its first good seed crop when it is 40-50 years old.” Be patient my friend; don’t let the shortcuts of life cut your life short.
